ODAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 9

All 10 games for ODAC women's lacrosse teams counted as conference matches. Nationally sixth-ranked Washington and Lee won its lone outing to push the Generals' winning streak to nine straight outings. Bridgewater, Lynchburg, and Randolph-Macon both won twice. While those wins marked the first of the conference slate for the Eagles, the Hornets and Yellow Jackets each improved to 4-2 in conference games to move within a half-game of Shenandoah in second at 5-2. WLU is 7-0 perched at the top. Lynchburg and RMC are now both 10-4 to join Washington and Lee (12-2) in double figures.

  • EMMA MOXHAM | RANDOLPH-MACON | MIDFIELDER
    Moxham, a senior from Street, Md., enjoys her first ODAC weekly award after contributing all over the field for Randolph-Macon to help the Yellow Jackets to a pair of ODAC wins over Sweet Briar (28-10) and at Roanoke (14-10). Versus the Vixens on Wednesday, Moxham pulled in two draws while also getting forward to score a goal. Against the Maroons, Moxham caused three turnovers and picked up a pair of ground balls while also posting five draw controls. She was also strong on offense, scoring twice and dishing out an assist. For the season, Moxham has registered 40 draw controls with 14 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. She has notched 10 points on nine goals and one assist.

  • McKENNA STEINAU | LYNCHBURG | ATTACK
    Steinau, a senior from Annapolis, Md., collects her first ODAC after posting an 11-point week in Lynchburg's 2-0 week that included ODAC wins over Guilford (22-4) and at Shenandoah (14-13). Against the Quakers on Wednesday, Steinau scored three goals and dished out a pair of assists. Two of her goals were unassisted with one free-position tally. She added three ground balls, a caused turnover, and two draw controls. Versus SU on Sunday, Steinau was both prolific and clutch as she led all players with six goals scored including the game-winning tally with 0:24 to play. Steinau was strong early with five goals in the first half and then returned to the scoring summary with the winner to clinch Lynchburg's first win over Shenandoah since 2018. Steinau added one ground ball and four draw controls to her line. For the season, Steinau is fifth in the ODAC in goals scored (45) and tied for seventh in points (50).
