ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament Field Set

Generals Top Lynchburg on Last Day to Earn Regular Season Title and No. 1 Seed

FOREST, Va. --- It all came down to the final game of the regular season.

In a showdown of nationally ranked heavyweights, No. 18 Washington and Lee University traveled to the Hill City and left with not only a victory (17-15) over No. 3 Lynchburg, but the conference regular season title and top seed in the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

The Generals (12-5 overall, 9-1 ODAC) and Hornets (14-2, 9-1) are two of the four schools slated to host quarterfinal games on Monday. Roanoke College (12-4, 8-2) will play as the third seed and host one of those outings, but tiebreakers were needed to determine the final opening round host. Hampden-Sydney College (9-8) and Randolph-Macon College (13-4) finished the season knotted at 7-3 in conference games. The two schools will play for a second time this season, this time at Hampden-Sydney as the Tigers' 9-8 triple-overtime victory over the Yellow Jackets to begin ODAC play in Ashland solved their tie via the league's first step.

Virginia Wesleyan University (11-6, 5-5) occupies sixth position and travels to Salem for a quarterfinal meeting with Roanoke. Bridgewater College (10-7, 4-6) will play as the seventh seed, which comes with a date at Lynchburg on Monday. Shenandoah University (5-12, 3-7) caps the eight-team bracket with a trip south to Lexington for a meeting at WLU to begin its tournament.
