Generals Back on Top with 43rd ODAC Men's Tennis Trophy

Shenandoah Runner-Up for First Time

LEXINGTON, Va. --- Washington and Lee University returns to the top of the ODAC men's tennis pack with a 4-1 victory over Shenandoah University on Sunday morning to earn the 2026 conference title.

Washington and Lee has now won 43 overall men's tennis trophies and 15 of the last 16 after falling to Averett University in the 2025 championship match. Shenandoah earns its highest-ever finish in the conference's men's tennis ranks.

The nationally 43rd-ranked Generals receive the ODAC's automatic entry to the Division III championship bracket. The full slate of teams is expected to be released by noon on Monday, May 4 on NCAA.com.

On Sunday, WLU took the early lead by winning the doubles point. Henry Imorde and Heys Parker posted a 6-3 win over Lucase Beasley and Shine Tokas as No. 1. Justin Ilie and Sanjheev Rao clinched the point with a 6-2 victory over Max Arkans and Artem Babaiev at No. 2. SU's pair of Aryanth Chintharlapalli and Dominick Suwak won at No. 3, 6-1, over Sahil Arora and Pearce Lane.

The first singles win of the day went to WLU's Rao with a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Chintharlapalli at No. 6. Babaiev claimed the Hornets' point with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 4 over Ilie to make it 2-1 Generals.

Arora put WLU ahead, 3-1, with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 comeback win over Siddarth Rajagopalan at No. 5. Imorde registered the match-clinching point at No. 2 with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 comebak over Tokas.
