All-ODAC Baseball Awards Announced

Lynchburg Makes History as First Team to Sweep Special Awards Since ROY was Instituted in 2001

FOREST, Va. --- Nationally second-ranked University of Lynchburg saw a league-best 12 standouts garnered a spot on an all-conference team to highlight the 2026 All-ODAC Baseball Awards.

Lynchburg made a bit of minor history with its awards haul. Hornets swept all five of the special individual honors handed out by the conference, marking the first time one school has received each of those awards since rookie of the year was instituted in 2001. Prior to that, only two awards were recognized each season.

Head coach Travis Beazley secured his first ODAC Coach of the Year plaque from his peers, while first baseman Jack Pokorak earned Player of the Year plaudits and righty Tyler Kaltreider collected his second straight ODAC Pitcher of the Year award. Hornets outfielder Kyle Flora received ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels, and second baseman Ben Jones was tabbed the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's athletic communications personnel.

The ODAC coaches recognized 40 stars with all-conference awards in 2026. This year's contingent includes 17 repeat honorees from last season, up five from the previous year's back-to-back honorees. This season's All-ODAC First Team includes a half-dozen standouts on an awards team for a second-year running.

Both of Shenandoah University's first team selections are repeat first teamers in reliever Liam Stewart ?and outfielder Jaime Padilla. Kaltreider and Bridgewater College designated hitter Zack Chadwell also appear on their second straight first team.

Lynchburg righty Nick Mattfield and shortstop Brandon Garcia made the move from the 2025 All-ODAC Second Team to this year's first team. Teammate and catcher Sean Pokorak and Washington and Lee University utility star Nathan DeWitte made the move from last season's All-ODAC Third Team to this year's top unit.
