ODAC Men's Soccer Report: Week 9

  • WEYIMI AGBEYEGBE | WASHINGTON AND LEE | JR | F | ATLANTA, GA.
    Agbeyegbe, a junior from Atlanta, Ga., picks up his first ODAC weekly honor of the season after leading the Generals to a pair of wins last week that featured a top-seed clinching win in the regular season finale and a triumph in the ODAC quarterfinals. Agbeyegbe registered eight points for the week on three goals and two assists. In a 4-0 victory over Lynchburg to clinch the top-seed in the ODAC Tournament, Agbeyegbe scored the first goal in the sixth minute and third goal in the 50th, both on assists from Asa Tuke. Agbeyegbe then assisted Paul Collins on the game's final goal in the 83rd minute. In a 6-0 win over Averett in the ODAC quarterfinals, Agbeyegbe was one of two assists on Brad Dulin's opener in the 22nd minute. He then scored the Generals fifth in the 70th minute off an assist from Tuke. For the season, Agbeyegbe is second in the ODAC in both points (25) and goals scored (10).

    • Averett midfielder Jonthomas Buckley assisted on the Cougar's first goal and scored the fourth on a PK in AU's 4-0 win over Roanoke to secure a berth into the ODAC Tournament.
    • Shenandoah forward Nathan Yared scored once and dish out two assists in a 5-2 win over Randolph-Macon in the regular season finale; he then scored once and assisted on a second goal in a 4-0 win over EMU in the ODAC quarterfinals.
