Lindner, a sophomore from New Milford, Conn., went 5-0 at 149 pounds to help Washington and Lee clinch its best-ever finish at the Budd Whitehill Duals, placing third overall in the well-attended national event. Lindner, the fourth-ranked wrestler at 149 pounds in the NWCA's Southeast Region, picked up four victories against wrestlers from nationally-ranked programs. In pod competition, he dominated his three opponents from #22 Ohio Northern, host and 21st-ranked Lycoming, and York (Pa.), winning each by technical fall. He drubbed Colton Spurgeon from ONU, 23-6, on the way toa 23-16 team win. He tech'd Wiley Kahler from LYCO at 17-1 towards a 34-10 team triumph. His tech fall against YCP's Joseph Cinquemani came after a 20-5 accumulation in the Generals 31-12 team win. In the semifinals, WLU lost to #7 Stevens, 31-13, but Lindner posted an 8-1 decision over Pasquale Vizzoni, the third-ranked competitor in the NWCA's Southeast Region. Lindner then helped WLU score a 23-18 win over fellow ODAC foe and 19th-ranked Roanoke to secure third place. He earned a second-straight 8-1 decision, this time over the Maroons' Jarrod Pominville.
