ODAC Golf Report: Fall - Week 7

ODAC golf programs competed in four tournaments during Week 7 with three men's events and one women's outing. Additionally, Alvernia University is currently hosting men's and women's tournaments that will not conclude until later today, so those events will feature in the Week 8 report.

MEN'S GOLF - Three Tournaments

  • The Tartan Invitational (Results): Four ODAC schools were active at the Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., as part of a 15-school (16 team) field that featured 14 institutions either ranked (11) or receiving votes (3) towards the latest (10/10/25) Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll. Eighth-ranked Washington and Lee finished sixth, while Hampden-Sydney (RV) tied for seventh. Lynchburg, ranked 18th, tied for ninth, while No. 19 Guilford slotted 16th following 54 holes of competition.
  • Golfweek October Classic (Results): The largest tournament of the week saw 24 schools including Randolph-Macon compete at on the Raven Course at Sandestin Resort & Club in Destin, Fla., for 54 holes of action. Eight of the competing teams were ranked in the latest (10/10/25) Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, while six more were receiving votes towards the survey. The Yellow Jackets tied for 19th overall.
  • Mason Dixon Collegiate Classic (Results): Shenandoah carried the ODAC banner in the 16-school (18 teams) event for 36 holes of competition at the Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro, Pa. The Hornets, which received votes towards the latest (10/10/25) Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, placed eighth overall.


WOMEN'S GOLF - One Tournament

  • Golfweek October Classic (Results): Randolph-Macon was the lone ODAC school in attendance at the 24-school 54-hole hole event on The Links course at Sandestin Resort & Club in Destin, Fla. The Yellow Jackets, ranked seventh in the latest (9/26/25) Division III Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll, finished second overall behind only No. 8 Williams College in a field that featured seven ranked programs and five more receiving votes towards the poll.
  • MORGAN MUSSATT | RANDOLPH-MACON
    Mussatt, a junior from Henrico, Va., stayed red hot in earning her third straight and fifth overall ODAC weekly award following competition at the Golfweek October Classic in Destin, Florida. Mussatt has competed in all five of Randolph-Macon's events this fall, finishing no lower than 15th. Her four top-10 showings include one runner-up outing at the season-opening Lynn Schweizer Memorial in August. Mussatt tied for seventh out of 120 players this week, posting a 4-over par 220 following 54 holes of competition on the par-72 track set to 5,601 yards on The Links course at Sandestin Resort & Club. Mussatt opened with a 1-under 71 powered by a trio of birdies and 14 pars. Her next two rounds featured colorful scorecards with three more birdies towards a 5-over 77 in round, and five birdies on the way to a closing even-par 72. Mussatt, who tied with Euna Lee from Williams College on the individual leaderboard, tied for second in par-4 scoring (E, 4.00) and birdies (11), the latter number one shy of tournament leader and teammate Alexis Haller. Piedmont University's Erin Donovan claimed medalist honors at even-par 216.

    Randolph-Macon, ranked seventh in the latest (9/26/25) Division III Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll, set two new team records and led the field in birdies (48) on the way to a second place finish at 29-over 893. That score is a new 54-hole program record, which includes a new team-best low round of 289 over its final 18 holes. The Yellow Jackets carded rounds of 303 and 301 over their first 36 holes. RMC trailed only eight-ranked Williams College in the 24-team table that featured seven ranked squads and five more receiving votes towards the WGCA poll. The Ephs finished at 8-over 872 (300-294-278).

  • JONATHAN McEWEN | WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
    McEwen, a junior from Portsmouth, Pa., collects his third ODAC weekly award of the season following competition at The Tartan Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon University. McEwen has featured in all three of the Generals' tournaments this year, finishing in the top-four in each including a tie for first to open WLU's season at the Gate City Invite. The 2025 Division III Jack Nicklaus Award winner tied for fourth in a field of 87 players with Pearse Lucas from Emory University and Haden Ruby from Methodist University. They posted 4-over par scores of 220 following 54 holes of competition on the par-72 track set to 7,022 yards at the Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., finished four-back of medalist Joshua Wang from Carnegie Mellon. McEwen posted a pair of 76's over his first two rounds, registering three birdies in round one and one with an eagle in round two. He closed the event with a tournament-low 68 powered by four more birdies and a second eagle. McEwen led the field in par-5 scoring (-7, 4.42) and tied for first with his two eagles.

    Washington and Lee, ranked eighth in the latest (10/10/25) Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, finished sixth overall at 40-over 904 (298-303-303). The field featured 16 teams and 15 schools – CMU fielded a “B” as well – with all but one of those schools either ranked (11) or receiving votes (3) towards the poll. That included each of the top-six teams in the country. Sixth-ranked Huntingdon College won the event at 22-over 886.

    • GUILFORD: finished 16th at 90-over 954 (324-318-312) at The Tartan Invitational
      • Gavin Peach tied for 71st at 20-over 236 (79-77-80)
    • HAMPDEN-SYDNEY: tied for 7th at 44-over 908 (297-303-308) at The Tartan Invitational
      • Sean Acree tied for 7th at 5-over 221 (71-73-77)
    • LYNCHBURG: tied for 9th at 47-over 911 (302-301-308) at The Tartan Invitational
      • Dylan Ollinger placed 28th at 11-over 227 (73-75-79)
    • RANDOLPH-MACON: tied for 19th at 54-over 906 (306-299-301) at the Golfweek October Classic
      • Charlie Wilkerson tied for 37th at 7-over 220 (76-74-70)
    • SHENANDOAH: finished 8th at 26-over 602 (301-301) at the Mason-Dixon Collegiate Classic
      • Conor McCarthy (71-77) and Caden Sherman (75-73) tied for 20th at 4-over 148


    * In collegiate golf, schools have the option to enter multiple iterations of teams in a tournament field. Only a designated “A” team cards an official score towards NCAA rankings and team averages. All individual players competing in a tournament, regardless of team designation, card official rounds towards their official individual scoring averages and NCAA rankings.
