ODAC Wrestling Report: Week 3

Early season ODAC wrestling featured a second straight week of mixed competition with dual meets, dual invitationals, and individual-based tournaments.

  • TYLER-NICHOLAS RITZ | SHENANDOAH | 174 LBS
    Ritz, a sophomore from Moseley, Va., won three times on the way to a fourth-place showing at 174 pounds at the Shenandoah Invitational. All three of Ritz's victories came by fall. In the first round, he stopped Everett Nichols from Garrett College after 1:29 and was then nine-seconds quicker in pinning Cole Hosey from Alvernia University in round two. In the quarterfinals, Ritz pinned Ethan Guevara from Otterbein University at 2:06. Ritz lost for the first time in the semifinals to Luke Thomas from Alvernia by fall at 6:50. In the third place bout, Ritz was on the wrong end of a high-scoring 23-11 major decision by Arthur Gordon from Johns Hopkins University.

  • SEAN RINEBOLT | SHENANDOAH | 141 LBS
    Rinebolt, a senior from Keedysville, Md., went 3-1 to finish second at 141 pounds at the Shenandoah Invitational. After receiving a bye through the first round, Rinebolt posted the first of two straight pins by pinning Ryan Trimber from Penn College after 2:01. He won by fall after 3:29 in the quarterfinals, defeating Reid Todhunter from Otterbein University. In the semifinals, Rinebolt earned a 10-4 decision over Nolan Brown from Alvernia University. In the title match, Rinebolt lost to Michael Phoutasen from Apprentice School by technical fall (17-2).

    • Carter Erickson, AU (285#): won by fall (3:31) over Braeden Fluke - AU's heavyweight starter in 2024-25 - in the Cougars 36-2 dual triumph over former ODAC member Ferrum College.
    • Carter Shuper, AU (157#): won by major decision (12-3) over Cameron Curva in the Cougars 36-2 dual triumph over former ODAC member Ferrum College.
    • Xavier Preston, RC (174#): defeated Tanner Giatras by technical fall (19-3, 3:00) in the Maroons 53-0 dual triumph over Southern Virginia.
    • Jude Robson, RC (125#): defeated Joseph Comaduron by technical fall (194, 1:48) in the Maroons 53-0 dual triumph over Southern Virginia.
