SALEM, Va. --- The first potential championshp three-peat of the weekend occurred in ODAC country with Roanoke College pre-empting any NFL three-peat by the Chiefs by claiming its third straight ODAC wrestling dual season trophy.
The Maroons, ranked seventh in the Division III dual team rankings by both the
NWCA and
The Open Mat, clinched a third consecutive league trophy in as many seasons of the ODAC's return to the wrestling ranks with a 33-8 triumph over Averett University on Saturday evening. Roanoke shared the league title with AU and Washington and Lee University in 2022-23 before capturing the conference's hardware outright each of the past two seasons.
Roanoke ran through its ODAC slate unscathed at 7-0. The Maroons along with the rest of the conference will now prepare for the ODAC Wrestling Championships on Saturday, February 15. The individual-based tournament will be hosted by Washington and Lee in its Richard L. Duchossois Athletic and Recreation Center. Competition is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. ET in Lexington.
