PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Last season, five ODAC wrestlers remained active after the first day of competition at the Division III Wrestling Championships. Much is the same in the 2025 edition with five competitors – including four from the 2024 group of first-day advancers – guaranteeing themselves a shot at competing for NCAA hardware on Saturday in the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island.
Reigning 141-pound champion Josh Wilson from Greensboro College remains on-track to defend his title, but he will have to do so against ODAC foe Mark Samuel from Roanoke College. The pair will square off in the same championship semifinal on Saturday. Samuel was the third place finisher last season.
Mason Barrett from Averett University at 125 pounds and Rayshawn Dixon from Ferrum College at 285 pounds also qualified for day two last season, while Dixon's Panthers teammate Zach Beckner at 125 pounds is new to the ODAC's group of five day-two advancing wrestlers. Thankfully for ODAC fans, there is a chance for an all ODAC championship at 125 pounds with Barrett and Beckner competing in opposite semifinals.
The progress for each active wrestler has guaranteed themselves All-American status as a top-eight finisher.
The sections below detail the competition for all 14 wrestlers from the first day of competition. Be sure to head to trackwrestling.com for full details including all 10 weight class brackets.
