ODAC Golf Report: Fall - Week 2

This story was updated at 3:55 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 10, to account for an individual men’s golf event that was not previously reported. The updates to the story include notes in the weekly overview, the selection of a men’s golfer of the week, and the inclusion of a men’s golf honor roll.

It was a lighter week in the ODAC golf world with just one tournament on either side of the ledger.

MEN'S GOLF - One Tournament

  • Knights Invitational (Results): Two ODAC schools traveled to Wintergreen Resort to compete on the Monacan and Shamokin nines at Stoney Creek in the all individual Knights Invitational hosted by Southern Virginia University. WOMEN'S GOLF - One Tournament

Three ODAC schools joined the Hornets in the field including two squads from Virginia Wesleyan and one each from Averett and Roanoke, the latter marking the first collegiate event for the new Maroons women's golf program. VWU's “A” squad was the top ODAC unit, finishing second behind champion Marymount University (Va.).
  • JULIETTE COFFEY | VIRGINIA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY
Coffey, a junior from Woodbridge, England, kicked off her 2025 campaign by tying for second place at the Chinatown/SU Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University at Cacapon Resort State Park in Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Coffey, who was the ODAC individual champion during her rookie season in 2023-24, matched Brooke Smith from Catholic University at 6-over par 150 to finish six strokes back of individual medalist Kate Parsons from Marymount University (Va.). Coffey carded six birdies over her two rounds on the par-72 track played at 5,647 yards, posting 75 over each 18-hole set. She birdied the par-3 eighth and par-5 18th holes in round one and followed up in the second round with a second birdie on #18 in addition to three more on the second, fifth, and 16th holes, all set at par-4. Coffey's six birdies were tied with Marymount's Tinleigh Rusher for second-most behind Parsons' seven.

Virginia Wesleyan fielded a pair of squads in the 13-team field representing 11 schools. The Marlins “A” squad placed second overall at 70-over 646 (625-320), 42 shots behind team champion Marymount. VWU's “B” unit finished seventh at 87-over 663 (331-332).
