WOMEN'S GOLF - Three Tournaments

  • Lynn Schweizer Invitational (Results): The Denison Golf Club was busy with its annual women's event, the Lynn Schweizer Invitational hosted by Denison University. Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon were among the 13 teams in the field. The Yellow Jackets set school records for 36-hole score (599) and 18-hole score (293 in round two) to win the event at 19-over par, while the Hornets chimed in sixth at 63-over 643 (320-323).
  • MORGAN MUSSATT | RANDOLPH-MACON COLLEGE
Mussatt, a junior from Henrico, Va., opens the season in style by placing second on the individual leaderboard to help Randolph-Macon set school records for 36-hole and 18-hole tournament scores on the way to winning the Lynn Schweizer Invitational hosted by Denison University. Mussatt finished four shots behind champion Becky Williams from DePauw University and five strokes clear of teammate Lilly Hall to sit firmly in second following two rounds at the Denison Golf Club. On the first day, players competed on the 5,700-yard track to a par of 73, while day two was set to a par of 72. Mussatt opened with a 3-over 76 that included a birdie on the par-5 15th hole. In round two, she posted a 2-under 70 that included four birdies on a pair of par-4's and two par-5's.

Randolph-Macon won the event with a school-record 36 hole total of 599, putting RMC 26 shots clear of tournament host Denison. The Yellow Jackets posted a 306 in round one followed by a school-record 18-hole 293 in round two.

He then registered an 8-over 79 in round two to finish at 2-over 144.
