ODAC Cross Country Report: Week 3

Week three was a bit lighter in terms of overall competition for ODAC cross country teams. The same amount (4) of races were attended by conference squads, but just six schools were active among them.

ODAC Top Times Reports: MXC | WXC

  • KAILEY LAMONT | SHENANDOAH UNIVERSITY
    Lamont, a sophomore from Woodbridge, Va., led the way for Shenandoah at its annual SU Twilight Opener hosted at the challenging Kernstown Battlefield course. Lamont placed fourth overall in a field of 46 runners. She posted a 5K time of 19:30.5 powered by a 6:16.7 per-mile pace that helped her smash her previous collegiate-best 5K cross country (21:41.6) by more than two minutes.

    Shenandoah placed fourth in the team table with 60 points in a tightly packed field of four squads.

  • PARKER BLOSSER | ROANOKE COLLEGE
    Blosser, a first-year from Weyers Cave, Va., completed his first collegiate 8K race as the third-fastest Division III finisher at the Queen City Invite hosted by Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. Blosser used a per-mile pace of 5:11.2 to post a time of 25:47.1 and place 50th in a mostly Division I, II, and NAIA field of 236 runners. His time is eight-fastest in Roanoke's record book.

    Roanoke placed 11th out of 21 teams in the meet table with 263 points. Eleven of the Maroons 16 competitors established personal-best times, helping RC average 26:05.0, which is faster than their peak average (26:30.0) from last season.
