ODAC Swimming Report: Week 9

ODAC swimming was quite active with a series of dual and tri-meets on either side of the ledger. Randolph College and Washington and Lee each posted a pair of team wins to lead the way.

  • PEIGHTON KRUZEL | WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
    Kruzel, a sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas, helped lead Washington and Lee to tri-meet victories over Chowan (204-23) and Randolph-Macon (179-81). Kruzel posted a pair of individual times just off her previous ODAC second-best marks in winning the 200-yard and 100-yard butterfly events. She registered marks of 2:09.38 and 0:58.03, respectively. Kruzel swam the third leg (fly) in the Generals' winning 200-yard medley relay squad. She joined teammates Maria Jellig, Morgan Smith, and Amelia Maloof on a time of 1:49.33.

  • JACKSON HOLSTEN | LYNCHBURG
    Holsten, a first-year from Richmond, Va., was a winner three times individually and helped the Hornets to a third-place showing in one relay in Lynchburg's 141-121 setback to the University of Mary Washington. Holsten claimed all three of his individual victories in freestyle events, claiming the 200-yard, 500-yard, and 1,000-yard disciplines with times of 1:46.08, 4:55.79, and 10:25.06, respectively. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Holsten and teammates Connor Marshall, Franco Gastaldi Fossat, and Tyler Caten finished third in 3:16.47.
