ODAC Women's Tennis Report: Report 9

Weather and general scheduling left ODAC women's tennis with just seven matches over the past week. That did include a conference outing with Lynchburg besting Hollins (7-0) to join nationally 19th-ranked Washington and Lee at 1-0 in league matches. The Generals got in most of their annual Groundhog Palooza tournament and posted a pair of ranked wins over No. 22 Swarthmore (7-0) and No. 18 Case Western Reserve University (5-2). WLU is 5-0 atop the ODAC table with Guilford at 2-0 and both Lynchburg and Randolph at 1-0.

  • SARAH DONNELLY / LAUREN LONG | WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
    Donnelly, a sophomore from Darien, Conn., and Long, a senior from Carmel, Ind., earn their second straight ODAC weekly doubles honor after posting a pair of wins in the nationally 19th-ranked Generals teams wins over No. 22 Swarthmore (7-0) and No. 18 Case Western Reserve (5-2) as part of the Generals' Groundhog Palooza tournament. Against Swarthmore, Donnelly and Long won 7-5 over Lola Diaz and Erin Li at No. 1 doubles. WLU's duo then took down Gabby Lee and Katalina Wang, 7-5. CWRU's tandem is the 10th-ranked pair in the ITA's Central Region. Donnelly and Long are now 3-0 in all doubles matches this season.

    Donnelly, a sophomore from Darien, Conn., went 2-0 at No. 2 singles to help nationally 19th-ranked Washington and Lee earned a pair of ranked wins over No. 22 Swarthmore (7-0) and No. 18 Case Western Reserve (5-2). Against Swarthmore, Donnelly downed Lola Diaz, 6-2, 6-2, and then trounced CWRU's Katie Wong, 6-4, 6-1. Donnelly is now 4-2 in all singles matches this year.
