ODAC Women's Tennis Report: Report 12

  • ELISA BATTERMANN / DILARA SULTANOVA | AVERETT UNIVERSITY
    Battermann, a senior from Zeist, Netherlands, and Sultanova, a junior from Izmir, Turkiye, went 3-0 overall in doubles action against ODAC foes to help Averett to a 2-1 week. In a 7-0 team loss to nationally 15th-ranked Washington and Lee, Battermann and Sultanova turned in a 6-3 victory over Grace Lorenz and Allie Murrell from the No. 2 flight. They played in the same position in the Cougars 4-3 victory at Virginia Wesleyan. AU's duo earned a 6-1 win over Jette Dammeier and Mikisha Thomas. In Averett's 7-0 win over Lynchburg, Battermann and Sultanova stepped up to No. 1 doubles and registered a 7-6 (6-4) victory over Isadora Lima and Kayla Kosiorek.

  • LAUREN LONG | WASHINGTON AND LEE UNIVERSITY
    Long, a senior from Carmel, Ind., went 2-0 at No. 1 singles to help nationally 15th-ranked to a 2-0 week with one ODAC win and a ranked non-conference triumph. Long, the three-team defending ODAC Player of the Year, has been firing on all cylinders after missing the fall season due to injury. She is now 5-1 overall this spring after earning a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Dilara Sultanova in WLU's 7-0 win at Averett and a 6-2, 6-2 win over Addison Felts in the Generals' 5-2 team victory over No. 34 University of Mary Washington.
