WILLIAMSBURG, Va. --- While ODAC men's golf returned to a trusted host for its championship last week, the conference's women's ranks open the league's ledger at a new championship-host with Wiliamsburg National Golf Club set to welcome the conference's nine playing members for the 2026 ODAC Women's Golf Championship.
League golfers will take to the Jamestown Course, the original 18-hole championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus on the Club's grounds that also includes the newer (2007) Yorktown Course developed by Tom Clark. Teams will arrive in Williamsburg for a practice round on Saturday, April 24 with championship play set to begin on Sunday, April 26 and continue through 54 holes by the end of Tuesday, April 28. A custom par-72 layout has been setup by the league's coaches and conference office with base distance at 5,724 yards.
Tee times are currently available for round one with others set following each subsequent round of play and based on each schools' position in the team table.
Much like a week ago on the men's side, eight of the conference's nine members enter the tournament with the goal of unseating a multi-year champion.
Washington and Lee University, currently
ranked eighth in Division III by Clippd, has won eight of the 12 overall ODAC championships competed including each of the past seven events.
Randolph-Macon College is hot on the Generals' tail, with the Yellow Jackets currently ranked 12th in the country and in search of their third ODAC trophy and first since winning lifting the first two women's golf prizes in ODAC history in 2013 and 2014.
Individually, the field of 44 players includes each of the past three ODAC individual medalists. RMC's
Morgan Mussatt is the reigning champion after winning by two strokes last season at Stoney Creek at Wintergreen Resort. She is the ODAC's top player
in the Clippd rankings at No. 29.
Virginia Wesleyan University standout
Juliette Coffey claimed the 2024 individual championship at Blue Ridge Shadows in Front Royal. She won via playoff over then
University of Lynchburg star Emily Brubaker and looks to add a second title to her résumé. The same can be said of
Julia Haetzel's goal as the WLU senior burst on the scene as a first-year by winning the 2023 title by one stroke over Brubaker at Old Trail Golf Club in Crozet.
