HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. --- All 11 ODAC players that traveled to Florida for the Division III Men's Golf Championships will get the full experience as both Guilford College and Washington and Lee University plus Alan Van Asch from the University of Lynchburg made the cut by excelling through two rounds of competition at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills.
A handful of players still need to complete their second rounds after play was suspended due to darkness with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Rochester, Mount Aloysius, and Bethel (Minn.) with holes remaining.
Nationally eighth-ranked Washington and Lee climbed nine spots up the team leaderboard into second position by the end of 36 holes. The Generals are 2-under par as a unit, carding a round of 6-over 290 on the Las Colinas on day one followed by an 8-under 280 on the El Campeon course on Tuesday.
Guilford College, ranked 31st in the country by Clippd, sits 17th at 22-over par as a team. The Quakers posted a 15-over 299 on Las Colinas over their first 18 holes and a 7-over 295 on El Campeon in round two.
Individually, both WLU's Tim Kaufman and Lynchburg's Van Asch are among three players tied for second, one shot back of leader Ryan Dunn from Oglethorpe University.
Kaufman fired the lowest round of the tournament so far on Tuesday, carding a 7-under 65 to leap 58 spots on the individual leaderboard. He poured in nine birdies on day two including five of his first six holes. His 11 birdies are the most in the tournament.
Van Asch, playing as an individual after earning an at-large selection by the Division III Men's Golf Committee, followed up an even-par 71 on Las Colinas on day one with a 5-under 67 on El Campeon on day two. He posted five birdies and 13 pars in a clean round, helping power his move 21 spots up the leaderboard rankings.
Any players that still need to complete their second rounds will hit the course at 7:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday with round three for those making the cut beginning thereafter. Follow along with the
