Here we go has already been said numerous times over the past week, but it is our first opportunity to say it when it comes to awards. So… HERE WE GO! Our first multi-sport report of the 2026 season features 10 ODAC Athletes of the Week with all traditional Monday sports joining cross country following the Labor Day holiday. It is pretty clear that ODAC student-athletes were itching to get back into action with some excellent performances over the first week of the new campaign.
Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards for Week 1 include:

- Women's Cross Country: Erin Loker, EMU
- Field Hockey Defense: Helenka Chodakiewicz, WLU
- Field Hockey Offense: Kierney Weigle, SU
- Men's Soccer Defense: Miles Furman, WLU
- Men's Soccer Offense: Trey Widrick, BC
- Women's Soccer Defense: Erinn Lockard, BC
- Women's Soccer Offense: Alaina Alston, BATN
- Women's Volleyball Defense: Vivi Vasquez, WLU
- Women's Volleyball Offense: Hannah Smith, BATN
Most weeks this season, the following schedule will be used for releasing weekly awards winners when the sports below active:
- Sundays: football
- Mondays: baseball, basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, wrestling
- Tuesdays: cross country, single-discipline equestrian, indoor track & field, outdoor track & field
- Wednesdays: golf
