ODAC Wrestling Report: Week 11

ODAC wrestling programs all competed in at least one conference dual last week with several schools also in action at individual invitational tournaments. Averett (5-0) and Roanoke (4-0) are both undefeated in league duals with their possible championship-deciding showdown set for February 8 in Salem. The Builder Invitational hosted by Apprentice School featured wrestlers from Averett, Ferrum, and Randolph. Shenandoah and Southern Virginia traveled to Ursinus College to compete in the Will Abele Invitational.

  • NOAH HARRIS | AVERETT | SR. | 184 LBS | APPOMATTOX, VA.
    Harris, a senior from Appomattox, Va., went 5-0 last week that included a 4-0 showing on the way to first place at 184 pounds at the Builder Invitational hosted by Apprentice School. Harris won his first match as part of the Cougars 41-13 ODAC dual victory over Greensboro. Harris earned a technical fall victory at 19-3 (3:52) over Luke Gregory. At the Builder Invitational, Harris started his run to the podium with a 12-9 decision of Jack Caissie from Central Florida. He then earned a 7-3 decision over Drew Palochak from Slippery Rock. In the semifinals, Harris pinned Central Florida's Mason Trujillo after 5:19 on the mat. Harris earned his title with a 20-4 technical fall (7:00) of teammate Grayson Ringwald.

  • ALEX LOGSDON | AVERETT | SR. | 125 LBS | WASILLA, ALASKA
    Logsdon, a senior from Wasilla, Alaska, went 5-0 last week that included a 4-0 run to the 125-pound title at the Builder Invitational hosted by Apprentice School. Logsdon started off his week by competing in one of the extra matches associated with Averett's 41-13 ODAC dual win over Greensboro. He pinned Lorenzo Elijah Kimber after 1:09 on the mat. At the Builder Invitational, Logsdon opened with a 13-1 major decision over Thomas Clark from host Apprentice. He then earned a win by fall at 2:41 over East Carolina's Joe Sipper. In the semifinals, Logsdon advanced after teammate Kyree Flamer was injured and could not continue after 6:53 of their bout. In the final, Logsdon pinned Central Florida's Charlie Smiarowski after 3:41 of their match.

    • Cameron Curva (FC - 149#): went 1-1 in FC's ODAC duals with Washington and Lee and Ferrum; he dropped a 13-3 major decision to WLU's Evan Lindner and earned a 15-4 major decision over RC's Dustin Smith
    • Rayshawn Dixon (FC - 285#): went 2-0 win ODAC duals with major decision wins against Carter Stack (12-4) from Washington and Lee and Brady Elswick (9-1) from Roanoke
    • Jacob Barlow (GB - 285#): earned a 19-1 technical fall (5:57) win over Jasiri Dingle from Averett
    • Josh Wilson (GB - 141#): the reigning 141-pound national champion earned a 21-6 technical fall (2:11) win over Averett's Joseph Naef
    • Kyle Lee (RC - 174#): went 2-0 with a major decision (12-3) over Shenandoah's Dylan Weaver and a pin (2:20) of Ferrum's Avery Hall
    • Jonah Paulino (RC - 133#): earned a 21-3 win by technical fall (5:57) over Ferrum's Trent Proctor in RC's 38-14 ODAC dual victory
    • Hunter Ballantine (SU - 149#): went 4-1 on the way to 3rd place at 149 pounds at the Will Abele Invitational hosted by Ursinus
    • Jacob Wright (WLU - 174#): earned an 18-2 win by technical fall (5:20) over Ferrum's Avery Hall
