ODAC Field Hockey Report: Week 6

The slate was light overall for ODAC teams with just seven games on the schedule. But four of those outings represented the first conference contests of the season. Bridgewater, Randolph-Macon, nationally 15th-ranked Shenandoah, and Washington and Lee each posted wins in their ODAC openers. Lynchburg, ranked 20th by the NFHCA, went 1-1 on a trip to New Jersey to match RMC with the second-best record in the ODAC at 7-3. Shenandoah sits atop the table at 8-2.

  • MADALYN MILLER | BRIDGEWATER | GOALKEEPER
Miller, a senior from Yorktown, Va., helped the Eagles open their 2025 conference slate with a 1-0 double-overtime triumph at Roanoke on Saturday in Bridgewater's only game of the week. Miller, who guarded the cage for the second half and both overtime periods in BC's planned two-keeper system, was responsible for seven of the Eagles eight saves. Three of her stops came in the fourth quarter and three more came in the first 7v7 overtime period before Bridgewater scored the game-winner just 30 seconds into the second extra frame. For the season, Miller is second in the ODAC in save percentage (.795) on 31 saves. She owns a 1.878 save percentage.

  • ANNA DORRESTIJN | LYNCHBURG | FORWARD
Dorrestijn, a junior from Driehuis, Netherlands, collects her second ODAC weekly award of the season after posting a five point week to help nationally 20th-ranked Lynchburg to a 1-1 showing on their Saturday-Sunday trip to New Jersey. On Saturday, Dorrestijn scored once and handed out an assist in a 5-2 triumph over Stockton University. She assisted Callie Short on the Hornets third goal for a 3-2 lead at the 36:43 mark. Dorrestijn then brought the ball into the arc herself and finished Lynchburg's fourth goal just under 10 minutes from time. In a 4-3 overtime loss to fellow nationally 20th-ranked program Rowan University, slotted home the Hornets second goal via an unassisted effort for a 2-0 lead at the 16:52 mark. For the season, Dorrestijn is second in the ODAC in goals (8), third in points (19), and tied for fifth in assists (3).

    • Bridgewater midfielder Natalie Stock tucked in the game-winner in double-overtime to earn a 1-0 win at Roanoke.
    • Lynchburg keeper Shay Schoones made 13 saves over two games – 6 stops in a 5-2 win at Stockton and 7 saves in a 4-3 loss in OT at #20 Rowan.
    • Randolph-Macon forward Brea Dresler recorded her second career hat trick in the Yellow Jackets 6-0 win over EMU.
    • Shenandoah forward Claudia Lenahan scored once and dished out an assist in a 5-0 win at Sweet Briar.
    • Sweet Briar keeper Reiyn Hart made a career-high 26 saves – most by a Vixens' keeper since 2017 – in a 5-0 loss to #15 Shenandoah.
    • Washington and Lee midfielder Margaret Scheurer scored twice and handed out an assist in a 4-1 win at Virginia Wesleyan.
