ODAC Women's Basketball Report: Week 4

ODAC programs went 5-2 against non-league foes in the seven games on the conference slate over the past week. League teams are now 48-17 (.734) in non-conference action with a pair of blemish-free squads, six one-loss outfits, and all but one team with a .500 or better record. Nationally seventh-ranked Washington and Lee leads the charge at 6-0 with Guilford now 4-0. Bridgewater, Hollins, Lynchburg, and Shenandoah are all 5-1 with BC (29) and SU (79) receiving votes to the D3hoops.com top-25 along with Randolph-Macon (9). Virginia Wesleyan (4-1) and Roanoke (3-1) also only have one loss.

  • ADDISYN BANKS | SHENANDOAH | GUARD
    Banks, a junior from Nokesville, Va., averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds with 10 assists, seven steals, and three blocked shots to earn her first ODAC weekly honor after helping Shenandoah to a 1-1 week. On Tuesday in a 72-60 triumph at Dickinson College, Banks registered 15 points and five rebounds (all defensive) with three assists, three steals, and a blocked shot. She was 7-of-16 from the field. On Sunday in a 64-49 loss to Christopher Newport University, Banks turned up her production at both ends of the floor with 18 points, four rebounds (3 defensive), seven assists, four steals, and a pair of blocked shots. She buried two shots from deep and went 8-of-10 from the line. For the season, Banks is tied for fifth in the ODAC in scoring (16.3) and averages 5.7 boards per game. She is seventh in assists (21) and has blocked five shots with 12 steals.

  • EMILY WILLIAMS | SHENANDOAH | GUARD
    Williams, a senior from Thurmont, Md., collects her second weekly award of the season after averaging 20.0 points and shooting better than 70-percent from the field in Shenandoah's 1-1 week. Williams opened with a career-high 26 points in the Hornets' 72-60 win at Dickinson College on Monday. She was 11-of-15 from the field including 3-for-4 from three-point range. She added seven rebounds (3 offensive), three assists, and four steals. On Sunday in a 64-49 loss to Christopher Newport University, Williams posted her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds (5 offensive). She was 7-of-10 from the field and chipped in four assists, a steal, and a blocked shot. For the season, Williams is ninth in the ODAC in scoring (14.2) and points scored (85). She is fifth in rebounding (9.2), total rebounds (55), and offensive boards (21), and third in field goal shooting (.610, 36-of-59). She is tied for eighth with 19 assists.

    • Bridgewater guard Riley Corcoran posted a career-high 25 points with 6 boards and 3 assists in a 71-51 win at Southern Virginia. Post Jay Garcia notched her 10th career double-double with 15 points and 12 boards to go with 2 assists.
    • EMU guard Emma Johnson scored 14 points with 2 assists and forward Jade Waller went for 11 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals in a 90-43 win over Mary Baldwin.
    • Lynchburg forward Bree Spainhour posted 20 points, 8 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocked shots in the Hornets' 78-62 win over Meredith.
    • Randolph guard Maddie Pabon went 5-of-9 from the field – all from 3-point territory – on the way to 17 points with 2 boards and 4 steals in a 49-46 win at Mary Washington.
