Wilson Highlights ODAC Championships with Third MOP Honor

WLU Claims Four Titles, Roanoke Three, Averett Two, Greensboro One

LEXINGTON, Va. --- Reigning 141-pound national champion Josh Wilson from Greensboro College highlighted the 2025 ODAC Wrestling Championships with a third straight Most Outstanding Wrestler honor to highlight nearly 10 hours of competition in Lexington at Washington and Lee University's Richard L. Duchossois Athletics and Recreation Center on Saturday.

The host Generals took home the most titles in the individual-based event with Evan Lindner (149), Mark Troni (165), John Santowski (197), and Carter Stack (285) standing atop podiums. Stack punctuated the day by winning his title via pin in the events final bout. Roanoke College, which was presented with the ODAC team trophy after claiming its third straight ODAC dual season championship, saw three Maroons capture gold medals featuring Jonah Paulino (133), Xavier Preston (174), and Vincenzo Corvetto (184). Averett's two champions were Mason Barrett (125) and Anthony Taylor (157).

Greensboro's Wilson claimed his third straight ODAC title at 141 pounds in arguably the most stacked bracket of the event. He and Roanoke's Mark Samuel are ranked second and fourth in the country, respectively, while WLU's Skyler Hickman and AU's Mauricio Reyes are slotted fourth and seventh in the region. Wilson and Samuel met for the weight-class title on Saturday with Wilson earning a 6-2 decision.

ODAC wrestlers will now prepare for the NCAA Southeast Regionals slated for Friday and Saturday, February 28-March 1. Averett University will serve as hosts of the event with league competitors looking to eclipse the 15 wrestlers that qualified for last season's Division III championships. This year's national event will be hosted by Johnson & Wales University at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, R.I.

All-ODAC awards are derived from placements at the ODAC Championships. Each weight class winner is considered All-ODAC First Team, while each runner-up earns All-ODAC Second Team recognition. Third place finishers receive All-ODAC Third Team distinction. Below are the top-three results at each weight class.
