ODAC Announces Indoor Track & Field Awards

Special Honors and All-ODAC Teams from the 2025 Championships

FOREST, Va. — The ODAC's indoor track & field coaches capped this season's All-ODAC awards process by naming several honorees from this past weekend's ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

  • WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
    • Field Athlete of the Meet: Kacey Kelly, Lynchburg
    • Track Athlete of the Meet: Taylor Myers, Bridgewater
    • Rookie of the Year: Olivia Warr, Washington and Lee
    • Coach of the Year: Dana Freeman, Washington and Lee
    • ODAC/VAFB Scholar-Athlete: Olivia Bates, Bridgewater
  • MEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
    • Field Athlete of the Meet: Mike Smith, Bridgewater
    • Track Athlete of the Meet: Tor Hotung-Davidsen, Lynchburg
    • Rookie of the Year: Tristan Wright, Lynchburg
    • Coach of the Year: Jim Sprecher, Lynchburg

  • KACEY KELLY | LYNCHBURG | JR. | JUMPS | WOODBRIDGE, VA.
    Kelly, who also competes on the Hornets basketball team, did not compete until the week before the ODAC Championships this season. That did not keep her from becoming the first woman in ODAC history to crack 12 meters in the indoor triple jump.

    Smith collects this honor for the second straight season as he continues to dominate the ODAC's weight throw ranks while also improving his marks in the shot put.

  • TAYLOR MYERS | BRIDGEWATER | FY. | DISTANCE | MCGAHEYSVILLE, VA.
    Myers, who earlier this year earned top ODAC rookie honors in cross country and finished 187th at the Division III championships, posted a trio of top-three finishes in Salem with a win in the 800-meter dash and third place finishes in the mile run and 5K, showing off her ability to compete in the mid-stance and distance events.

  • TOR HOTUNG-DAVIDSEN | LYNCHBURG | GR. | DISTANCE | OAKTON, VA.
    Hotung-Davidsen is one of the many stars of the Lynchburg distance corps. He shined in Salem with two event wins and a new championship record in the mile run. He too is a cross country star, finished 61st at the Division III championships as part of Lynchburg's qualifying team.

  • OLIVIA WARR | WASHINGTON AND LEE | SO. | DISTANCE | MIDDLEBURG, VA.
    Competing in her first indoor season after sitting out last year, Warr won twice in Salem while setting a new championship record in the 3K. She has consistently been a top performer for the Generals, leading the distance ranks throughout the schedule. Warr was stellar in the fall as a cross country star, earning All-American honors after placing ninth at the Division III championships on the heels of earning the ODAC's Runner of the Year laurels.

  • TRISTAN WRIGHT | LYNCHBURG | FY. | SPRINTS | FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA.
    Wright burst on the scene this winter, earning multiple ODAC weekly honors as he inched closer and closer to the conference's 60-meter dash record. He got there in Salem, setting a new championships record in the event while also tying the 13-year old overall record set by Guilford's Johnathan Smith in 2012.

  • OLIVIA BATES | BRIDGEWATER | JR. | HURDLES/JUMPS | MARTINSBURG, W.VA.
    Bates collects her first ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year award from the league's athletic communications personnel. In the classroom, the health and exercise science major maintains a 4.0 grade point average while also working towards a minor in psychology. She is ever-present on the Bridgewater Dean's List and is a two-time honoree on the ODAC All-Academic Team.

  • COOPER HURST | LYNCHBURG | SR. | DISTANCE | CHESAPEAKE, VA.
    Hurst collects his first ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year award from the league's athletic communications personnel. In the classroom, the multi-time honoree on the Lynchburg President's and Dean's Lists maintains a 3.829 GPA as he works towards becoming a pediatric gastroenterologist. He is a two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Team honoree and a four-time honoree on the ODAC All-Academic Team.

  • DANA FREEMAN | WASHINGTON AND LEE
    Freeman guided the Generals to their second ODAC women's indoor championship, pairing this year's trophy with the one they lifted in 2009. Washington and Lee has been ranked as high as 25th by the USTFCCCA this season, while currently occupying the 80th spot in Division III. They are ranked second in the South Region behind Emory University.

  • JIM SPRECHER | LYNCHBURG
    Sprecher guided Lynchburg to its fourth straight ODAC indoor trophy and its 32nd overall. Lynchburg's men's program is currently ranked fifth – and within earshot of third -- in Division III by the USTFCCCA, moving up a spot from before the ODAC championships.
