Lynchburg Leads ODAC Men's Lacrosse Poll

Hornets Just Three Points Clear of Washington and Lee for Top Spot

FOREST, Va. --- Two teams have claimed all seven ODAC trophies since 2018 and it is those same two squads that have separated from the pack at the top of the 2026 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Preseason Poll.

The University of Lynchburg owns a three-point edge over Washington and Lee University in this year's annual coaches' survey. The Hornets garnered seven first-place votes to power their 97-point haul. The Generals received the remaining three top nods on the way to 94 markers.

Just five points separates third from fifth in the table. Randolph-Macon College enjoys its highest poll position in third with 75 tallies, but the Yellow Jackets are just one point clear of fourth-place Roanoke College. Hampden-Sydney College sits fifth with 70 points.

In the sections below, we look back to the 2025 season to set the tone for this year and then dive into some features of ODAC men's lacrosse for the upcoming 2026 campaign.

  • ODAC fans will have 28 All-ODAC honorees from the 2025 season to support in 2026, marking the second straight year a little more than half of the 50 all-league stars return to league rosters. That group includes eight members of the All-ODAC First Team, 11 All-ODAC Second Team choices, and nine All-ODAC Third Team honorees.

Lynchburg leads the charge with seven of the 11 all-conference Hornets returning to the Hill City. Reigning ODAC Coach of the Year Gene McCabe features six all-league returns. That figure is matched by the number of returning Tigers including 2025 top-rookie Cole Palmer, who was also a second team selection. Randolph-Macon's five-player All-ODAC list is buoyed by last season's ODAC Defensive Player of the Year Mike Allen. That leaves four all-conference stars for new Roanoke mentor Grant Zimmerman as he takes over the lead chair from 37-year Maroons' veteran Bill Pilat.
