LEXINGTON, Va. — University of Lynchburg equestrian will need more room in its trophy case following its fourth straight ODAC traditional equestrian on a picturesque afternoon at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington. The Blue Ridge Mountains and ODAC riding fans witness the Hornets program collect its sixth consecutive conference championship combining the last four traditional titles with the first two ODAC single-discipline championships the last two seasons.

Lynchburg won both Equitation Over Fences classes and finished second in the Equitation on the Flat class to power its final 16-point total to place two points clear of Bridgewater College in second position. The Eagles won the flat competition, helping them earn one more point than third-place Washington and Lee University.

The Hornets' Madeline Rubin was the high-point rider of the day, posting a two-round fences average of 87.750 to earn ODAC Rider of the Year honors. The eight-rider All-ODAC squad – which is based solely on competition in the two fences classes – also included ODAC Rookie of the Year, Kaycie Miranda from Washington and Lee, who registered the second-best average of the event at 82.500. Lynchburg mentor Phillip Williamson garnered ODAC Coach of the Year laurels from his peers, while Sweet Briar College All-ODAC rider Wyette Felton received ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition from the league's athletic communications personnel.
