ODAC Equestrian Report 6

A trio of ODAC equestrian programs were active in single-discipline circles over the past week. Sewanee made the trip to the Lynchburg-area to compete against both Sweet Briar and Lynchburg over the weekend.

On Friday, the nationally fifth-ranked Vixens earned an 8-2 triumph over the Tigers, winning both the fences and flat competitions by 4-1 scores. SBC's Maggie Booth was the MOP of both sessions.

On Saturday, Sewanee met the top-ranked Hornets in Rustburg with Lynchburg claiming a 7-3 triumph with a 4-1 over fences and a 3-2 victory on the flat. The Hornets' Rebecca Collier (fences) and Amaya Bellfield (flat) garnered MOP laurels.

    Bellfield, a first-year from Longmont, Colo., returns to the ODAC weekly awards pool for a second straight week after helping nationally top-ranked Lynchburg posted a 7-3 victory over traveling Sewanee on Saturday. Bellfield was named MOP on the flat as she posted a personal-best score of 89 while riding Balou. Her counterpart, Olivia Carnouche, registered an 83 on Balou. Bellfield added a second point for the Hornets, winning her fences matchup by 18 markers.

  • MAGGIE BOOTH | SWEET BRIAR COLLEGE
    Booth, a senior from Marietta, Ga., was one of several stars for the Vixens on Friday as nationally fifth-ranked Sweet Briar posted an 8-2 team win over traveling Sewanee. Booth was named MOP for her rides in both the fences and flat competition. Over fences, Booth scored an 84.5 to best her opponent, Emma Sameth, 15.5 points while riding Hemingway. That was the highest margin of victory in the session. On the flat, Booth added a second point for SBC with an 87 for a 10-point victory over her opponent while riding Neptune.
