ODAC Women's Volleyball Report: Week 6

ODAC play dominated the past week of competition for women's volleyball with 12-of-18 matches featuring league programs in official conference contests. Nationally 22nd-ranked Virginia Wesleyan had the only blemish-free week with victories in all three of their conference matches. The Marlins have yet to lose this season, sitting at 19-0 overall and 6-0 in ODAC outings. Lynchburg is right on the doorstep of being nationally ranked at 16-2, while No. 15 Washington and Lee is now 15-3. Bridgewater has also reached double figures at 12-5 overall.

  • BREANA BROOKS | VIRGINIA WESLEYAN | MIDDLE
    Brooks, a senior from Asheboro, Va., collects her second ODAC weekly award of the season after helping nationally 22nd-ranked Virginia Wesleyan to a 3-0 week. The Marlins remain unbeaten this season at 19-0 overall and 6-0 in league play. Brooks contributed well on defense and offense with 12 total blocks and 21 kills over VWU's three matches. Her best outing came in the midweek with the Marlins earning a 3-2 win over a strong Lynchburg side. Brooks went for 13 kills while hitting .308 with four total blocks. In weekend #2 of the ODAC's Friday-Saturday matchups, Virginia Wesleyan squared off with Roanoke and Hollins on the roads. Brooks turned back the Maroons offense with five total blocks to go with a pair of kills in a 3-0 on day one. On Saturday, Brooks notched three more blocks to go with six kills in a 3-1 victory over Hollins. For the season, Brooks leads the ODAC in total blocks (60), block assists (44), and blocks per set (0.94). She is second in solo blocks (16) and hitting percentage (.338) with 124 kills in 266 swings.

  • HANNAH SMITH | VIRGINIA WESLEYAN | OUTSIDE
    Smith, a graduate student from Virginia Beach, Va., earns her second ODAC weekly honor after helping nationally 22nd-ranked Virginia Wesleyan to a 3-0 week against ODAC foes. The Marlins remain unbeaten in 2025 at 19-0 overall and 6-0 in conference matches. Smith registered an ODAC weekly-high 45 kills on a .315 attack percentage to go with six aces, 36 digs, and five total blocks. She accounted for 53.5 total points over the Marlins three matches. In a 3-2 win over a strong Lynchburg side on Wednesday, Smith collected nine kills and three aces to go with 23 digs and three total blocks to keep the Marlins in the driver's seat in the ODAC table. On the weekend in a Friday-Saturday set of matches at Roanoke and Hollins, respectively, Smith combined for 36 kills (16 and 20) on just 58 swings at a .483 clip. She added three aces, 13 digs, and two total blocks. For the season, Smith leads the ODAC in kills (269) and is second in kills per set (3.90). She is third in aces (38), tied for fifth in digs (258), ninth in digs per set (3.74), and 11th in hitting percentage (.270).

    • EMU defensive specialist Emerson Moats notched 50 digs – including 32 in a 3-2 win over Regent – while outside Emma Greer went for 29 kills and 4 total blocks in the Royals' 2-1 week.
    • Guilford outside Natalie Moore posted 34 kills, 6 aces, and 41 digs, while defensive specialist Amber Chiarolanzio registered 46 digs – including 26 in a 3-2 win at Randolph – to highlight the Quakers' 2-1 week.
    • Lynchburg outside Tori Williamson recorded 21 digs at a .296 clip with 3 aces and 29 digs, while middle Leah DiNardo posted 14 kills and 7 total blocks in the Hornets' 1-1 week.
    • Roanoke libero Teagan Hubble registered 39 digs – including 25 in a 3-2 win over Randolph-Macon – and middle Emma Catoe posted 25 kills and four total blocks in the Maroons' 1-1 week.
    • Washington and Lee libero Vivi Vasquez posted 18 and 19 digs – 37 at 6.13/set – in the #15 Generals' two ODAC victories.
