ODAC Men's Soccer Report: Week 1

Nearly each of the ODAC's 12 men's soccer sponsor schools tasted victory over the weekend with eight unbeaten through two games. EMU, Hampden-Sydney, and Roanoke are 2-0, while Bridgewater cashed in on its first outing of the year. Averett, Lynchburg, Randolph, and Virginia Wesleyan also have not lost yet with each earning one win and one tie. Guilford and Randolph-Macon experienced both ends of the scoresheet in two contests each.

    Arledge, a senior from Fredericksburg, Va., helped EMU post a pair of clean sheets to open the 2025 campaign. Arledge saw a total of 25 shots fired his way by Grove City College and Geneva College with seven on-target. He turned away all five shots on frame in a 2-0 victory over GCC and then stopped both shots goal-bound in a 1-0 triumph over Golden Tornadoes. The Royals are now 2-0 to start a season for the first time since 2008.

    Boerner, a senior from Midlothian, Va., was all over the scoresheet in helping Hampden-Sydney outscore their opening week opponents, 9-1. In a 5-1 triumph over Southern Virginia University, Boerner assisted Michael Farmer in the 29th minute for a 3-0 Tigers advantage. Boerner then made it 4-0 in the 32nd minute with his first goal of the year. He capped H-SC's scoring with an assist of Ubaid Wasi's 85th minute tally. In a 4-0 victory over Marymount University, Boerner slotted home his second mark of the season in the 76th minute to lock away the Tigers' result.

    • AU's Diego Giffuni, BC's Riley Queen, GC's Isaac Garbia, LYN's Evan Pask, and RC's Keegan Peat – was among those that scored their first goal of the season.
    • AU's Anibal Lopez made 7 combined saves in AU's win over Shaw (1-0) and draw (1-1) at William Peace
    • EMU's Elijah Byrd scored the 1st goal at Grove City (2-0) and assisted on the game's only goal (1-0) at Geneva.
    • Christopher Kelley went the distance with 5 saves in Guilford's win (1-0) at Methodist.
    • H-SC's Tyler Peltz dished out three assists from his left back position in helping the Tigers post wins over Southern Virginia (5-1) and Marymount (4-0).
    • VWU's Zach Bittler scored twice and dished out an assist in the Marlin's 3-0 triumph over the US Merchant Marine Academy. Keeper Ben Haynes made 6 saves in a 1-1 draw with Dickinson in a full shift. He made 1 stop in just short of 70 minutes against USMMA.
