Tigers Offensive Line Earns Second D3football.com Weekly Award

Unit of Stimmel, Pressinger, Topinka, Wilson, and McIntire Named to Team of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --- The Hampden-Sydney College football offensive line has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for games played during week three on September 20. It's their second selection in three weeks after earning the honor during week one, as well. They were selected this time for their outstanding efforts during the Tigers' 42-7 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) home win past Shenandoah on Sept. 6 on Fulton Field at Lewis C. Everett Stadium.

H-SC's offensive line versus the Hornets featured senior team captain and right guard William Stimmel (Atlanta, GA), sophomore right tackle Jacob Pressinger (Spotsylvania), sophomore team captain and left guard Cash Topinka (Charlotte, NC), sophomore left tackle Thomas Wilson (Charlotte, NC) and freshman center Braden McIntire (Louisa). The unit helped the Tigers rush for 443 yards on 73 attempts (6.1), adding 123 yards passing on 15 attempts for 566 yards of total offense on 88 plays (6.4), while allowing no sacks for the second time in three games.  H-SC totaled 443 yards rushing against SU—a new team single-game rushing record—surpassing the previous record of 395 yards rushing at Bridgewater on September 24, 1988.

Playing in a reserve role against SU were senior Robert Caskey (King George), sophomores Bill Ball (Yorktown) and Jonas Taylor (Spotsylvania), along with freshmen Owen Bellson (Dallas, TX) and Robby Peckham (Virginia Beach).

H-SC (3-0, 1-0), ranked 25th nationally in this week's AFCA D3 Coaches Poll, will play on the road at ODAC member Guilford College (1-2, 0-1) on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 p.m. in Greensboro, North Carolina.
