SALEM, Va. — One streak ended last season, but maybe we are seeing the start to a new run…this time with split championships.
For the second time in as many seasons, the ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championship titles went to two separate squads with the University of Lynchburg repeating as the men's champion and Washington and Lee University securing its second straight women's trophy. Before last season, it had been since 2020 that two different schools had taken home conference hardware from Roanoke College's Cregger Center.
Lynchburg is now the owner of five consecutive and 33 overall men's indoor championships. For Washington and Lee, it had been since 2009 that the Generals had claimed an ODAC women's indoor title before 2025. Now winner of two straight, WLU has now topped the women's indoor points table three times.
A total of 10 records were set over the two-day affair in Salem, split evenly between the men's and women's ranks. In addition to the new standards set by Lynchburg's Alex Jordan and Lamont Victoria that we explained in our day one recap, six more benchmarks feature new entries from Sunday alone. In the women's competition, Bridgewater College thrower Abby Mikolay reset her own ODAC overall record set earlier this season in the shot put. Her new mark of 13.63 meters also reset the oldest championship record remaining in the conference books, eclipsing the mark set by EMU's Crystal Campbell in 1995.
WLU's Jesma Evans reset her own 400-meter dash championship record set last season. She posted a time of 0:27.00 on day two to supplant her 0:27.30 showing from last year. Teammate Mad McMurphy is the new championship record-holder in the pole vault. She cleared 3.63 meters to take over the record-book entry from former BC standout Christina Rhodes, who achieved a 3.61-meter clearance in 2010.
Roanoke College took over for the 2013 version of Maroons that set the 4x400-meter relay championship record at 3:59.58. RC's team of Olivia Ladner, Mae Kaufman, Maryrose Molina-Shuman, and Lindsey Hobin posted a new meet-best time of 3:58.49.
WLU first-year Macky Gartley set two records in the 60-meter hurdles. Last week, he tied for Virginia Wesleyan University star Landry Moffo's overall record of 0:08.09. Gartley left no doubt on Sunday, taking over both the overall and championship records from Moffo by posting a time of 0:08.05.
Gartley would have been involved in a third record had it not been for Roanoke College in the 4x400-meter relay. Both schools eclipsed the 2025 championship record of 3:21.79. The Maroons' unit of Max Cardwell, Elias Ammon, Brandon Heffinger, and Lorenzo Camobreco won the event at 3:20.55. The Generals' squad of John Daniels, Connor LaCour, Gartley, and DJ McDonough finished second at 3:21.75.
In the sections below, we highlight the full team standings, note any records achieved, and identify each of the event winners through the first day of competition.
