ODAC Baseball Report: Week 3

League programs got in a season-best 36 games last week and the winning continues for the majority of the ODAC. Every member has at least a .500 winning percentage with no fewer than four wins under their belts. Bridgewater is first to reach double figures as the Eagles have posted a program-best 11-0 start. Shenandoah is not far off at 9-0 with Virginia Wesleyan at 8-3.

  • COOPER CHARNECO | WASHINGTON AND LEE
    Charneco, a junior from Clifton, Va., picked up his first win of the season with seven strong innings to earn an 8-3 victory over nationally 25th-ranked Randolph-Macon on Saturday. Charneco allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits. He walked three batters, but more than made up for the free passes with nine strikeouts.

  • JAIME PADILLA | SHENANDOAH | OUTFIELDER
    Padilla, a senior from Yonkers, N.Y., has brought some of his former leadoff-hitting traits to the middle of Shenandoah's order as he reached base safely 12 times (7 hits, 4 BB, 1 HBP) and stole three bases in addition to driving in seven runs and scoring six in the Hornets' 4-0 week against non-conference foes. Padilla slashed .500/.632/.714 beginning with a 2-for-3 showing in a 13-5 win over Hood. He walked twice, scored three times and drove in two more runs while also stealing a base. In an 11-9 win over Piedmont, Padilla went 1-for-3 with a walk and a HBP. He drove in two runs and scored once. In a 13-3 win over Immaculata, he went 3-for-4 with all three knocks going for doubles. He registered three RBI and scored twice while walking once and swiping a pair of bags. He capped his week by going 1-for-4 in a 5-4 triumph over Oswego. For the season, Padilla is hitting .424 with a 1.173 OPS. He has driven in 12 runs and scored 13 times while going 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.
