ODAC Men's Basketball Report: Week 2

The quality of men's basketball has been a strength of the ODAC for a long time. Evidence of that in 2025-26 is clear with 10 of the conference's 12 programs featuring .500 or better records through the first two weeks of the season. Nationally second-ranked Randolph-Macon is 4-0 with No. 10 Roanoke at 3-0. They are joined by Shenandoah and Washington and Lee at 2-0 to account for the conference's four unbeaten squads in the ODAC table.

  • LIAM JOYCE | RANDOLPH-MACON | FORWARD
    Joyce, a senior from Allentown, Pa., picks up his first ODAC weekly award of the season after helping nationally second-ranked Randolph-Macon to a 2-0 week that featured 71-65 victory at No. 9 Christopher Newport University and a 92-57 triumph over Yeshiva University, which was receiving votes (32) towards the D3hoops.com top-25. Joyce rejected three shots and came away with a pair of steals on Wednesday at CNU. Five of his seven boards came via the defense glass and he was 4-of-5 from the field for eight points. On Saturday, Joyce again blocked three shots to go with one steal. He added 13 points on 6-of-7 from the field and posted three boards.

  • GABE PROCTOR | GUILFORD | GUARD
    Proctor, a senior from Apex, N.C., posted a trio of 20-point games to not only help Guilford a 2-1 week, but also become the fastest Quaker to reach 100 points in a season (4 games) since former All-American Ben Strong turned the trick in his first four outings in 2007-08. On Wednesday, Proctor poured in 25 points in a 106-102 triumph at N.C. Wesleyan University. He was 8-of-18 from the field including 4-for-10 from deep with a 5-for-6 showing from the line. He added five boards and two assists to his line. Then at the Frankie Allen Tip-Off Classic hosted by Roanoke College, Proctor opened the two-game set with 21 points in an 84-68 loss to Marymount University (Va.). He was 7-of-13 on field goals including 4-of-8 from three plus 3-of-4 from the stripe with three rebounds. On Saturday, Proctor buried six three-pointers on the way to 28 points in a 109-93 victory over Southern Virginia University. He was 11-of-24 from the field overall with seven boards, four assists, and three steals.

    • Averett forward Jackson Sellars led the Cougars to a 2-0 week that included an 82-73 win over Greensboro where he set career-highs with 35 points and 14 rebounds.
    • EMU guard Isaiah Carr registered his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 boards against Mary Baldwin (L, 79-66).
    • Guilford guard Kody Clayton dished out 14 assists and came away with 13 steals while averaging 7.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in the Quakers' 2-1 week.
    • Hampden-Sydney center Alex Cannon blocked three shots and scored seven points, while guard Tugg Bizzelle posted a career-high 19 points in a 79-56 win over Salisbury.
    • Lynchburg forward Jamarcus Brown averaged 26.0 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting .610 from the field in the Hornets' 1-1 week. He had a career-high 27 points against Pfeiffer (L, 95-89).
    • Randolph-Macon playmaker Keishawn Pulley Jr. averaged 11.0 points and shot 57-percent from the field in No. 2 RMC's 2-0 week that included a win over No. 9 CNU.
    • Roanoke guard Marcus Morgan averaged 12.3 points and was 14-of-20 from the field in the No. 10 Maroons 3-0 week that included a tournament title at its own Frankie Allen Tip-Off Classic. Forward Patrick Clevenger averaged 5.7 points and 7.7 rebounds.
    • Shenandoah forward Joseph Baldwin registered 22 points, 8 boards, and 3 steals in a 70-61 win over Wilson College.
    • Washington and Lee forward Connor Amorosi averaged 18.5 points and 7.5 rebounds with four assists in the Generals' 2-0 week. Forward Addison Newkirk averaged 11.0 points and 7.5 rebounds with three steals.
