FOREST, Va. --- For the second time this season,
Hampden-Sydney College running back
Terry Hicks has earned a spot on the
D3football.com Team of the Week.
Hicks joins the Tigers' 2025 offensive line of Thomas Wilson, Cash Topinka, Braden McIntire, William Stimmel, and Jacob Pressinger as the latest ODAC athletes to earn multiple Team of the Week honors in a singles season. The last to do it not part of a team unit was Bridgewater College safety Aaron Moore in weeks one and six in 2022.
The Division III leader in rushing yards (971), Hicks has gained more than 200 yards in each of his past three games. His previous
D3football.com Team of the Week honor came during Week 3 when
he ran for 316 yards and two scores in a 43-41 come-from-behind victory at the University of New England. That total still tops the Division III single-game charts.
Hicks, a senior from Clayton, N.C., carried the ball a career-high 37 times in the Tigers' 39-33 road victory at Roanoke College on Saturday. He ran for 217 yards and two touchdowns as he increased his Division III-best rushing average to 194.2 yards per game. His 148 carries out-pace the next closest Division III rusher by 15. His 971 yards are 70 more than Paul Woodward from East Texas Baptist University in one fewer game played.
Four ODAC players have earned
D3football Team of the Week laurels this season. Washington and Lee University
corner Marcus Canton collected recognition from Week 1, while fellow General,
punter Fulton Weaver, was selected in Week 5. Averett University
corner Jeremiah Marks joined Hicks with laurels from Week 3.
