ODAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 7

We are heavy into ODAC play with eight of the 10 games played last week counting as conference contests. Nationally third-ranked Lynchburg (7-1) and No. 17 Washington and Lee (5-4) are both 2-0 in league outings with Hampden-Sydney (5-4) owning the most conference wins at 3-1. Randolph won twice last week to improve to 3-5 including a triumph in the WildCats first ODAC game. Randolph-Macon (7-2) and Virginia Wesleyan (7-2) joined Lynchburg with an ODAC-best seven overall victories.

  • KALON ROSS | RANDOLPH | DEFENSEMAN
Ross, a junior from Landover, Md., played a major role in Randolph rattling off two victories last week including a triumph (10-8) at Averett in the WildCats first ODAC outing of the season. In an 11-7 midweek win at Warren Wilson, Ross posted a season-high five caused turnovers and picked up six ground balls. He then upped his season-high for ground balls to eight while forcing four turnovers in a 10-8 victory at Averett on Saturday. One of his caused turnovers came with 3:53 remaining in regulation to thwart a would-be late scoring chance for the Cougars. For the season, Ross has registered a team-best 13 caused turnovers and 22 ground balls.

  • JAMES HALEY | WASHINGTON AND LEE | ATTACKMAN
Haley, a senior from Westfield, N.J., became just the ninth player in Washington and Lee men's lacrosse history to register 200 career points as part of his 12-point effort to help the nationally 17th-ranked Generals to a 2-0 week against ODAC foes. Haley notched four points on two goals and two assists in WLU's 14-10 win over Roanoke on Wednesday. His second goal put him on 200 points for his career. Haley followed up that effort with eight points on four goals and four assists to go with three ground balls and a caused turnover in the Generals' 24-5 victory at Virginia Wesleyan. For the season, Haley has notched 39 points on 23 goals and 16 assists. He needs five more points to move into seventh place in program history.
